1. General Information

This privacy policy informs you about the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data within our online service. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. Personal data is treated confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations (in particular the GDPR).

3. Definitions

"Processing" means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means.

"Controller" means the natural or legal person which determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.

4. Hosting

Our website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.

5. Access Data and Log Files

We collect data about every access to the server (server log files) on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR): page name, date and time, data volume, browser type, operating system, IP address. Log file information is stored for security purposes for a maximum of 7 days and then deleted.

6. Collection and Storage of Personal Data

a) When Visiting the Website

When you visit our website, server log files are automatically recorded (IP address, date, browser type, operating system). This data is used for technical security purposes and is not merged with other data sources.

b) Registration as a Host

When you register as a campsite host, we collect: username, email address, password (stored encrypted).

c) Creating a Listing

When creating a listing, the following data is processed: geo-coordinates (latitude/longitude), description, images (optional), contact information, address (only visible internally), selection of which contact data is publicly visible.

7. Purpose of Data Processing

Processing is carried out for: providing the platform, displaying campsite listings, enabling contact between users, and managing user accounts.

8. Legal Basis

Processing is carried out pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 GDPR lit. a (consent), lit. b (contract performance / use of the platform) and lit. f (legitimate interest in operating the platform).

9. Consent

By creating an account and publishing a listing, users confirm that they are authorised to publish, that the specified data may be published, and that they have read the privacy policy.

10. Data Retention

Data is stored for as long as the user account exists. After the account is deleted, the data will be deleted unless there are statutory retention obligations.

11. Map Service (OpenStreetMap)

We use map material from OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation). When loading the map, your IP address may be transmitted to OpenStreetMap servers.

12. Brevo (Email Communication)

For sending emails (e.g. registration, system notifications), we use the Brevo service (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Brevo.

13. External Payment and Support Services (Ko-fi)

Our website links to Ko-fi (Ko-fi Labs Limited), through which users can make voluntary contributions. We do not process any payment data ourselves.

14. External Payment and Support Services (PayPal)

Our website links to PayPal (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg). Payment processing is handled exclusively by PayPal. We do not receive any payment or account data from users.

15. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service by Google LLC, on the basis of our legitimate interests. We only use Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled. Personal data of users is deleted or anonymised after 14 months.

16. Guestbook

Our platform offers a guestbook where users can voluntarily publish content. Published content (texts, username) is publicly accessible. Publication is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).

17. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Non-essential cookies (e.g. for analytics) are only set with your explicit consent.

18. Data Disclosure

Personal data is only disclosed to third parties on the basis of a legal permission, your consent, or as necessary to provide the platform, or where there is a legal obligation.

You have the right at any time to:

20. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures pursuant to Art. 32 GDPR to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk. Data transmission over the internet may have security vulnerabilities.
